AUTUMN 2018

It's been quite an alarming season in Lake County. We are hardly half way through the fire season and our county has been devastated by the largest wildfire in California history. Everyone here is fine and there have been several casualties. Excess carbon dioxide in the air can make for great growing conditions or with too much ruin costly crops like wine grapes, walnuts and pears.

Here at the farmstead we are putting the finishing touches on the house, getting the spartan manor and the Christopher Dean Airstream International ready to receive guests. Getting ready for some planning and planting of fall crops, fruits, berries, nut trees and garlic. Great great crops this summer like 12 varieties of tomatoes, 2 types of eggplants, ground cherries (aka cape gooseberries), kohlrabi, cabbage, squash, 4 kinds of melons, pumpkins, zucchinis, radishes, herbs, as well as elephant garlic that has cured quite nicely. Hope to see you when the farmstand opens, soon.
