WINTER 2018
The game of farms. Winter is coming. We welcome the crisp days, wood stoves, foliages changes, warm liquids and baked goods, indoor activities, darkness and frosty views. There is a lot to get done before the stress of preparation is over and a large storm has finally hit. Everything you got out of the elements is hopefully dry and any stragglers are gathered hopefully without too much permanent damage. We are on track to have most winter tasks done before and major rains but it will be close and there always seems to be things you don't quite rememberer until it's too late. The optimists in farmers let us say it will be better next year. Garlic is being planted again along with fruit and nut trees. Still have tomatoes believe it or not in November, and out newest edition to the pastures are four female American Guinea Hogs enjoying whole grains, dairy products, veggies from the garden, weeds and bugs from the pastures, kisses from the resident canine mascot and getting quite pudgy in the 4 months they have been here.
